Still

Still.

Calm.

Knowing.

Take a moment to think about those words. What do they mean to you?

While taking a kayak out a few weeks ago, I rowed out into the center of the lake and just stopped for a few minutes. And I sat there, slowly drifting not a care in the world. It was calm, peaceful. No phones, no talking, no noise. Just me and the lake. And God.

It’s in those moments where you can just be. No expectations, no duties. We all need those moments, don’t we? Moments where his presence is there, comforting like a warm hug. And we can experience a calm knowing… that he is there.

If it means you have to get up earlier,  take a walk, step away, or close the door…what ever you have to do, I urge you to take those moments to slow down often in your life no matter how brief. Because it’s in times like these, that you take a step towards living more authentically. Staying truer to your heart. And resting more assured of his will.

Today, stop for a minute.

Be still.

And know, beyond all doubt… that he is God.

About 1authenticlife

I am a traveler in life, loving to explore, observe and grow. I have a large, great family and live in the Mid west. My husband and I both co-own businesses... There is so much in life that fascinates me, most of all God and people. I have been to many countries and still have never tired of the adventure. My hope is to inspire others through the trials and triumphs of my life & practical truths found in the Bible, to be all they can be, and to live out their life authentically for Christ.
